On May 18 finals of the 7th International Knights Tournament for the saber of the Chief of Defence of Lithuania took place in Kaunas. After a break of several years all the rivals conceded to a Lithuanian knight. The winner was presented with a real Lithuanian saber by Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Arvydas Pocius. The second prize, a replica of an ancient battle axe, was claimed by a Latvian representative, and the third-place winner from Lithuania received a replica of an ancient fighting knife.

The 7th iteration of the International Knights Tournament co-organised by the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the brethren "Medieval Messengers" pulled together 14 knights from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Germany and Belarus. Previous iterations also involved participants from across Europe - the saber of the Chief of Defence was twice claimed by Ukraine's, Latvia's and Lithuania's knights.
