Vessel of the Lithuanian Navy took part in NATO exercise Trident Juncture 2015

Mine counter-measures vessel of the Lithuanian Navy LNS Skalvis (M53) took part in Trident Juncture 2015, NATO's largest exercise since 2002, as part of the Standing NATO Mine Counter-Measures Group One (SNMCMG1) in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Spain from October 22 till November 5.

During the first phase of training on October 22-28 LNS Skalvis carried out mine counter-measures operations in the Mediterranean near the port of Cartagena (Spain) sweeping for and detecting 9 dummy naval mines on the seafloor.

 

During the training of the maritime component of Exercise Trident Juncture 2015 on October 30-November 2 off the western coast of Spain near Rota in the Atlantic Ocean LNS Skalvis was sweeping for naval mines and preparing safe watercourses for personnel and equipment landing.

 

On November 5 LNS Skalvis moored in Lisbon (Portugal) for the presentation of maritime component of NATO's Exercise Trident Juncture 2015.
