Tactical air control party exercise Furious Wolf 24-1 concluded

The international tactical air control party (TACP) exercise Furious Wolf 24-1 conducted on January 22-26 in Panevėžys and Klaipėda regions by the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence Multinational Battle Group (eFP BG     EST) Estonia trained Lithuanian, U.S. Air Force units and NATO eFP Battle Groups Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland to provide planning and coordination of close air support and built interoperability and coordination with friendly forces while ensuring tactical air control through integration of battalion-level fire support capabilities and organic intelligence. To meet the latter objective, the Mortar Platoon of the Heavy Weapons Company and the Reconnaissance Platoon of the Headquarters Company, King Mindaugas Hussar Battalion, Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf were integrated in the training event as the Secondary Training Audience.

Furious Wolf 24-1 was completed in two stages. First, the Training Audience were debriefed on the tactical scenario, Allied weaponry, equipment, devices and aircraft firepower and took part in a simulated calling for Navy fire procedure training. Next, to the east of the Panevėžys City, NATO Air Policing Mission reinforcement aircraft , Lithuanian Air Force helicopters and MQ-9 Reaper long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle operated alongside land personnel. The Reconnaissance Platoon sought out high-value targets for identification and collected data on Red Force actions as required in the tactical exercise plan. The information was reported to the Command Element on a timely continuous basis to draw up indirect fire plans and distribute simulate targets for land-based TACPs or mortar platoons.

The international tactical air control party (TACP) exercise Furious Wolf 24-1 is organized by the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence Multinational Battle Group (eFP BG) Estonia on January 15 – February 2 in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to build interoperability with NATO Allies and Partners. Lithuanian military personnel are consistently training in international exercise to acquire priceless experience and ability to execute operations alongside NATO Allies.
