On July 12 soldiers of Lithuanian Armed Forces solemnly paraded in a formation of flags and divisions in the Cathedral-Basilica Square of Vilnius in the Inauguration Ceremony saluting the new President of the Republic of Lithuania and the Commander-in-Chief of Lithuanian Armed Forces Dalia Grybauskaitė. Commanders of services of Lithuanian Armed Forces were formally introduced to the President.
Honour Guard Company, platoons and flags of MIB „Iron Wolf", Air Force, Naval Force, Land Force, National Defence Volunteer Force, Logistics Command, Training and Personnel Command, cadets of Gen. Jonas Žemaitis Lithuanian Military Academy, Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas Headquarters Battalion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, Public Security Service under MoIA, Border Guard Service, Police Department stoond out in the solemn parade of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
After the representation of Lithuanian Armed Forces the Transfer Ceremony of the Presidential Palace took place in Simonas Daukantas Square with attendance of the Honour Guard Company and the Band of Lithuanian Armed Forces. Members of the Honour Guard Company were wearing reproduced XIV century arms of Lithuanian knights as symbol of traditions of Lithuania's statehood and military arts. During the ceremony soldiers solemnly hauled down the President Valdas Adamkus' flag and hoisted the new President Dalia Grybauskaitė's flag. Three discharges from a historic cannon were shot by members of Vytautas the Great War Museum's History Club.
