Snipers from NATO allies to compete for the title of the best in Lithuania

On May 29-30 Snipers Fest 2019 competition organised by the Lithuanian Land Force Juozas Lukša Training Centre will take place in Rukla (Jonava region). At the event over 160 sharpshooters and snipers from 15 countries will compete for the Lithuanian Land Force Commander's Prize and showcase characteristics of their equipment and their abilities of high-precision firing at targets of different complexity.

It is the 10th anniversary of Snipers Fest competition. This year the abundance of participants is extraordinary - they will represent 15 NATO allies: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Spain, UK, Canada, Poland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, and Germany. Also, snipers from Ukraine and Sweden will compete against NATO colleagues. The event will be also attended by members of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union and Lithuania's Long-range Shooting Federation.

On the first day of the competition participants will shoot in and share experience, and May 30 will be the main competition which will last until late night and present the best.

The already traditional contest fosters traditions of sniper shooting, experience exchange, comparison of skills, establishing friendships, and to increase the appeal of sniper profession and marksmanship among Lithuanian and other NATO allies' militaries and force structures.

Media representatives are invited to observe the competition and meet with organisers and participants on May 30, 1430hrs, at the Gaižiūnai Training Area in Jonava region.
