Signal and IS  Battalion troop on a mission in Iraq

 On July 4 members of the Deployable Communication and Information System Module (DCISM) of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Great Hetman Radvila Perkūnas  Signal and IS Battalion lined up for a deployment ceremony before leaving on a mission for Iraq. Battalion Commander Lt Col Jurgita Savickaitė presented the group leader with a Lithuanian tricolor.   

The DCISM is leaving for Iraq on July 14 on a four-month rotation to the NATO Mission Iraq. It will provide communications support to ensure uninterrupted C2 in the area of operation as part of the NATO Communications & Information systems Group.

NATO Mission Iraq (NMI) has been based in Bagdad, capital of Iraq, and training instructors, teachers, leaders and honing procedures of the Iraqi Armed Forces and other security institutions of the state since 2018. Highly experienced advisors from NATO and partner nations cooperates with the Iraqi Armed Forces and Government to create a safer and more stable state of Iraq. The mission is expected to become a launch pad for a long-term partnership with the important partner in the Middle East.
