Siauliai city municipality orphanage celebrated Easter in Lithuanian Air Force Air Base.

On the 20st of April Lithuanian Air Force base personnel and United States Air Force soldiers, who are currently in charge of NATO QRA mission over three Baltic States held an event for kids from Siauliai city municipality orphanage.

 

The main goal of the day was to show attention for troubled kids and share Easter joy with them. United States Air Force personnel dressed up as Easter bunnies gave short briefings about NATO air policing mission in Baltic region, showed standing displays of F-15C "Eagle" and introduced pilots gear and equipment.

 

 

  

 

Afterwards kids played traditional Easter game - egg hunt, where they had to find chocolate eggs hidden in all over the base, also they painted eggs, and tried United States Air Force personnel favored activities - table football and Frisbee. Then after a short pray which was given by USAF chaplain captain Sean Ballard kids were invited for dinner to eat some pizzas. After three hours of fun, guests left Lithuanian Air Force Air Base with big smiles in their faces.

 

USA team is the first detachment in Lithuanian Air Force Air Base this year and they will handover responsibility for Baltic region air space security in the end of April to Polish Air Forces which will continue NATO air policing mission with four fighter jets MiG-29 and also they will be accompanied with additional four "Eurofighter Typhoon" jets from British Royal Air Forces".
