NATO Air policing mission soldier from Germany donated gold for orphanage

"I, Martin Winkler, the citizen of Germany [...] - I am donating as a charity 20 gram weight piece of investment gold (99,99 % pure). The token was presented to the Lithuanian Public institution "Visos Lietuvos vaikai"."

 

This is the excerpt of the donation paper, which was made on the 21st of March by NATO Air policing mission's soldier. According to Major Martin Winkler, his motivation is simple - thankfulness for Lithuania, for its care, for cooperation during NATO Air policing missions.

 

On the 21st of March Germany detachment representatives accompanied by Lithuanian Air force Air base soldiers paid a visit to orphanage "Visos Lietuvos vaikai". Visitors chatted with the children, donated presents and sweets for them, took a look to the commune.

 

Public Institution "Visos Lietuvos vaikai" established in 1989 year by Elena Kubilienė for homeless children.

 

German Air Force detachment guards Baltic airspace with two seated fighter jets F4 Phantom. This is the fourth German mission; they will be replaced by France Air Force detachment.
