Brig. Gen. Artūras Leita, Commander of the Lithuanian Air Force, attended NATO Air Chiefs‘ Conference in the United States of America on 16-24 October. 23 NATO Air Chiefs represented their respective Air Forces at the event. Lithuanian Air Force Commander was appointed as a leading general officer to the NATO Air Chiefs' delegation.

The conference this year was shaped so that beside a number of briefings at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany and Washington D.C., NATO Air Chiefs were taken on a tour through the number of USAF units: Air Mobility Command and Transportation Command at Scott AFB, Illinois, Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, Florida, Space Command at Peterson AFB, Colorado, Euro-NATO Joint Jet Undergraduate Pilot Training Unit at Sheppard AFB, Texas and USAF Warfare Center at Nellis AFB, Nevada.

On conclusion of the visit the NATO Air Chiefs were given a special surprise when they were met by "Pease Greeters" at Pease International Airport in New Hampshire. The Pease Greeters' welcome troops passing through Pease International Airport on their way to, or from, Afghanistan or Iraq, or any other part of the world. Commander of the Lithuanian Air Force was presented a sweater with the emblem and signatures of the "Pease Greeters" as a remainder of this touching moment.
