June 16, Exercise Strong Shield 6 wrapped in Northern Lithuania. Training the 6th Territorial Unit of the Resurrection Military District, National Defence Volunteer Force, to plan and conduct defensive operations, the exercise certified the skills of its Headquarters and Infantry Companies in planning and execution of military operations in real terrain and real time as well as in coordination of joint actions and interoperability with other Lithuanian Armed Forces and Allied units.
“As we wrap, we can claim the Resurrection Territorial Unit ready for national defence and able to complete assigned tasks, previously, now and in the future. This level of exercise gives invaluable experience: it defines strengths of the commanders, underlines areas requiring improvement. The training is over, we are entering a new stage, and we will apply lessons learned here to improve our skills in the future,” said Commander Lt Col Tomas Stankevičius.
Alongside the Territorial Unit, the exercise involved military personnel from the Land Force, Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union and NATO Allies –the UK, U.S., Latvia, France, Denmark and Germany.
