Military Representatives to NATO visit Lithuania

June 23, Military Representatives to NATO of 18 Allies conduct a visit to Vilnius to familiarize with the security situation in the eastern flank of NATO and tour military units of Lithuania and other NATO Allies that maintain force presence in Lithuania to get a closer view of their structure and activities.

“It is my distinct privilege to host Military Representatives to NATO in Lithuania. I am certain that the countries they represent will become even more clear-eyed about the security and defence picture of Lithuania as a result of this visit,” Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lt Gen Valdemaras Rupšys said.

The guests will meet with top leadership and personnel of the Lithuanian Land Force and troops of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group and the German 41st Brigade, 1st Division, Forward Command Element in Rukla.

Military Representatives to NATO serve at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels (Belgium) on behalf of their respective Chiefs of Defence. Lithuania’s current Military Representative to NATO and the EU of Lithuania is Maj Gen Remigijus Baltrėnas, the main mission of the office is to represent the Chief of Defence of Lithuania and Lithuania’s national interests in the NATO Military Committee and the EU Military Committee.
