From June 27 to July 15 roughly 150 used Mercedes-Benz GD military all-terrain vehicles are being transported from the Netherlands to complement ATV pool of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. These all-terrain vehicles are in good technical. Primarily the vehicles are taken to the Depot Storage Service of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, and later distributed to different units.
The Lithuanian Armed Forces acquires several hundred of used military vehicles (Mercedes-Benz GD of various purposes, DAF trucks and towtrucks, etc.) of different purposes from the Netherlands Armed Forces on a bilateral basis.
The equipment is brought from the Netherlands to Lithuania in several stages - 15 vehicles were delivered in the end of 2015, 18 medical evacuation ATVs, one towtruck, and several tens of trailers were brought in April 2016. The rest of the equipment (ATVs, trucks, and trailers) acquired under a contract of the value of Eur 7 million will be brought in 2016-2017.
