July 2, HQ of Logistics Command of Lithuanian Armed Forces celebrated Coronation of King of Lithuania Mindaugas and State of Lithuania Day. During the event logistics specialists working in Afghanistan were awarded for outstanding merits.
Commander of Logistics Command Col. Ovidijus Eitminavičius bestowed Lithuanian Land Force Distinguished Service Medal on two logistics specialists of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytenis General Support Logistics Battalion. WO Viktoras Ruseckas and M. Sgt. Rolandas Šunskis were appreciated for personal contribution and dedication in fulfilling service under extreme conditions in the international NATO's operation in Afghanistan.
„Today is a right day to remember that every one of us build our state - by the works, words, an achievements. These people can stand up as an example for each of us because they follow King Mindaugas' way and support and adorn our country. We have every reason to be happy for living in Lithuania because our country is a result of our ongoing creative efforts", said Commander of Logistics Command Col. O. Eitminavičius when awarding and congratulating the soldiers.
Logistics Command is an element of the Lithuanian Armed Forces established in 2001. The main purpose of the Command is effective preparation and maintenance of logistic resources ensuring logistic provision of the National Defence System institutions and their divisions in Lithuania and beyond its territory.
