On March 24-25 Chief of Defence of Lithuania Major General Jonas Vytautas Žukas and a delegation will be attending Future Force Conference 2015 at the invitation of Chief of Defence of the Netherlands General Tom Middendorp. The event will aim at identifying and analysing implications of the present security challenges on future armed forces.
"I am sure that this international conference will be really valuable for maintaining our armed forces at an adequate level of readiness in the context of present and future threats," Chief of Defence said before leaving for the Netherlands.
According to Chief of Defence, abilities to adjust to circumstances and to adapt are vital for armed forces bearing in mind a spectrum of influencing factors, such as political will, limited financial resources, capacity of defence industry, success of cooperation with allies and partners, and such.
The venue of the event will be the National Military Museum in Soest. Under the auspices of the Chief of Defence of the Netherlands Future Force Conference 2015 is organised by TNO (The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research), the Netherlands Defence Manufacturers Association, the Federation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCV), and the Hague Centre for Strategic Studies. The conference will be attended by Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Philip M. Breedlove, over 400 high-ranking EU and NATO military experts, political leaders, academics and representatives of industry.
