During Exercise Dynamic Front 2018 running in the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, on February 23- March 10, artillery units from different countries and support capabilities are trained to integrate different indirect fire support systems and ensure smooth coordination of multinational forces' actions. Particular focus will be placed on standardisation of indirect fire deployment and identification of targets from operational to tactical level.
The exercise arranged by the US Army Europe involves 3,700 participants from 26 NATO and partner countries. On Lithuania behalf, staff personnel of the Motorised Infantry Brigade Griffin and soldiers of the Brigadier General Motiejus Pečiulionis Artillery Battalion are enhancing skills and sharing experience. Lithuanian representatives have a great opportunity of training in a multinational environment and sharing experience with colleagues to apply it for training at home afterwards.
This year the exercise is exceptional because this is the first time all members of the Artillery Systems Cooperation Activities are represented. It helps associating different artillery systems and simplifies their operation. The exercise scenario also included close air support provided by US and Czech fighter pilots.
