From April 6 to 12 approximately 60 troops of the Command Staff, battalions and the assigned military units of the Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf take part in the Danish Division-organised exercise Yellow Knight. The exercise is also attended by staff personnel of Estonian, Latvian and Danish brigades affiliated to the Danish Division and staff personnel of the Danish Division itself.
The Danish Division opened the exercise by a training phase focusing on non-kinetic operations. The Training Audience (TA) of the exercise familiarised with humanitarian activities developed by a spectrum of governmental organisations and NGOs: provision of medical care, temporary accommodation, feeding and other services to refugees and internally displaced people. Military personnel cooperate with such organisations in the regions of various military operations, which is helpful in solving the issues of the effect of military activities on civilian environment.
When the active phase of the exercise begins, the staff personnel will refine their decision-making skills in planning and conducting operations according to the exercise scenario generated by the Exercise Directing Staff.
The Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf was affiliated to the Danish Division in 2006 on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Lithuanian and Danish Chiefs of Defence to ensure the interoperability of Lithuanian and Danish military capabilities when deployed to multinational operations. The affiliation covers joint involvement of both countries' officers in the work of international staffs, and in joint training events and exercises.
