LITHUANIAN ARMED FORCES ORCHESTRA AT THE AMBER HOPE OPENING CEREMONY

PABRADÈ-The Lithuanian·Armed Forces Orchestra gave an outstanding musical performance at the opening ceremony of the international exercise Amber Hope, held on Monday June 13 at the Pabradè Training Area.

 

To the great pleasure of all the guests, participants, and dignitaries present for the occasion, the Lithuanian Armed Forces Orchestra enhanced the opening ceremony with their impeccable drill and their great music which included the Lithuanian
national anthem, adding even more professionalism to the event. This orchestra is one of the five professional military bands in Lithuania along with the army, the navy, the air force, and volunteers' forces bands.

 

"Music is essential to all military ceremony as it boost moral, develop esprit decorps, and reinforce the pride of our military heritage," stated Brigadier General Algis Vaičeliūnas, the officer conducting the exercise.

 

The Lithuanian Armed Forces Orchestra takes part in high ranking state official "red carpet" ceremonies, other formal national and Lithuanian military ceremonies, on national holidays, and concerts for society. The Orchestra is composed of 60 professional musicians coming from the best music institutions of Lithuania.

 

Under the direction of bandleader captain Egidijus Ališauskas, the orchestra is recognized as one of the best military bands in Europe, and there is great demand from conductors of other states to take part in concerts with them. The orchestra has already participated in more than 32 international European festivals of military bands and has recorded and produced· many records on the National Radio, TV, and CD's. The orchestra maintains creative contacts with military bands of the U.S., Belgium, Hungary, Canada, and many other countries.

 

Exercise Amber Hope 2011, provides a great opportunity to strengthen relations with our partners, is exceptional in its spirit, aims, and helps all participants to share common experiences. The Lithuanian Army Orchestra will also be participating at the closing ceremony that will be held on Thursday June 23 at the Pabradè Training Area.
