On April 17 through 21 the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the German 10th Division will be training area reconnaissance and discussing force movement and deployment options at Exercise FÜREX 2023. Approx. 70 exercise participants will represent the German Allies – command staff of the 10th Division, command groups of the 12th Brigade, 13th Dutch Brigade and the French-German Brigade, representatives of the Cyber and IT Security Service, Joint Logistical Support Force, Medical Support and Quick Reaction Units.
Lithuanian and German military will be scouting the terrain in the regions of Central, Northeastern and South Lithuania. German representatives will familiarize with the infrastructure at the Lithuanian Armed Forces and readiness of career and volunteer troops for national defence.
Exercise FÜREX 2023 comes as a stage of preparation for Exercise QUADRIGA 2024. Representatives of Germany will carry out assess of the security situation across the Baltic region, the deployment to Lithuania will follow after the deployment to Poland.
