We are bound together by the Suwalki Corridor the defence of which is of mutual and utmost importance. We are fostering strong ties with Poland in defence area and we continue making them stronger with every joint project, exercise and plan. We share our NATO membership and mutual trust, we are strengthening the defensive powers of our countries and the Alliance in a coordinated manner and we form a firm and indivisible fist," Lt Gen Valdemaras Rupšys said after the conversation.

Defence cooperation of Lithuania and Poland encompasses a range of areas, such as protection of classified information, mutual natural disaster and emergency relief assistance, military aircraft movement in both countries' national airspace, military professional training and qualification improvement in both counties' military education institutions, and air and sea search and rescue.
