Leadership of the French Army visited Lithuania

"We have met with Deputy Commander of the French Army Major General Francisco Soriano conducting a visit in Lithuania. I have extended gratitude for the significant contribution to the security of our country through deployment of a company as part of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group our security. We have also discussed the need and possibilities for further military cooperation between our respective forces, Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force Brigadier General Valdemaras Rupšys said after the meeting.


After the visit in Vilnius, the French delegation visited Rukla to meet with the French soldiers serving in the NATO eFP Battle Group in Lithuania, to view their living , service, equipment storage, and pastime conditions. The guests also observed French soldiers at a live-fire exercise at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area.


Gen F. Soriano also met with Commander of the NATO eFP Battle Group in Lithuania Lieutenant Colonel Wolf Rϋdiger Otto and leadership of the Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf into which the eFP Battle Group is integrated.


The meeting with Commander of the Iron Wolf Brigade Colonel Mindaugas Steponavičius addressed the process of integrating the NATO eFP Battle Group into the BRIgade, participation in the joint training cycle, relevant matters and plans.
