On March 1 and 2 Estonian and Latvian Land Forces' Commanders Col Indrek Sirels and Col Dzintars Roga will pay an official visit in Lithuania by invitation of the Lithuanian Land Force's Commander Maj Gen Jonas Vytautas Žukas.
On March 2 a meeting will be held at the Lithuanian Armed Force's Headquarters in Vilnius where Commanders of the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian Armed Forces will share relevant of their branches, and points of bilateral and trilateral defence cooperation.
Land Forces' Commanders of the Baltic States are also expected to sign a joint trilateral cooperation plan of land forces which should be prepared and reviewed annually through Land Forces' command and staff meetings. Such a plan will be made to enhance coordination and coherence of implementation of cooperation between the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian Land Forces. So far it has been conducted on the basis of separate plans through participation in a range of trilateral and multilateral military cooperation projects.
Commanders of the Baltic Land Forces conduct several meetings per year during a range of international events. Their last meeting took place last year in Venice during the annual Conference of European Armies.
