Thursday, June 12. The day opened with gloomy skies, a light shower followed. But that was no threat to the concentration and alertness of an uhlan company. Their intensive glares were saying that there soon would appear armoured vehicles of a hostile force at a distance. Such a nerve-racking hanging in the trenches awaiting for the thunderstorm of a battle is as much exhausting as a miner's job, but that is such warriors' daily bread under the banner of three colours on their right sleeve.
The STRYKER combat vehicles of the U.S. allies lined up in forward position are very much long-sited providing an additional pair of eagle's eyes for the Lithuanians. Long hours of patience are broken off with the company commander's cry: "I want to hear grenade launchers! JAVELIN section - take up your positions! STRYKERS make left!". "Deploy to the left, to the left!", commander of the Ist platoon Lieutenant Gytis Suzinavičius controlled the movement of the reserve unit.
