November 11-12, an international seminar will be organised at Gen Jonas Žemaitis Lithuanian Military Academy on the topic of protection against nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) weapons. The purpose of the seminar is to familiarise representatives of the Baltic civilian and military institutions with the most advanced technologies and tools of protection against NBC, and to share experience among military and civilian institutions in order to ensure defence against such weapons.
Lithuanian, Estonian and Latvian armed forces, Fire and Rescue Department under the Lithuanian Ministry of the Interior, Lithuanian Police Forensic Science Centre, and other civilian institutions, and enterprises designing means of protection delegated representatives to the seminar.
The event was organised by the Material Resources Department of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, the opening address was delivered by the Chief of Defence Staff of the Ministry of National Defence Brig Gen Edvardas Mažeikis. The seminar was also attended by Directors for Armamenta of Estonian and Latvian defence ministries - Undersecretary for Logistics of the Ministry of Defence of Latvia Inga Puikevica-Puikevska, and Undersecretary for Investment of the Ministry of Defence Mikk Marran.
