Infantry Brigade Griffin kicked off international Exercise Strong Griffin 2023

On November 5–19 the Lithuanian Land Force Great Hetman Jonas Karolis Jonas Karolis Chodkevičius Infantry Brigade Griffin organizes the international exercise Strong Griffin 2023 at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area in Pabradė. It will involve over 2200 military personnel and 300 military vehicles: Abrams tanks, M113 armored personnel carriers, Bradley U.S. infantry fighting vehicles, Poland’s Rosomak infantry fighting vehicles, HMMWV utility ATVs, supply and command vehicles.

The annual scheduled exercise Strong Griffin 2023 trains units of the Infantry Brigade Griffin, military personnel from the National Defence Volunteer Force, Military Police, Military Medical Service, Colonel Juozas Vitkus Engineer Battalion, Air Defence Battalion of the Lithuanian Air Force, Lithuanian Navy, Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytenis General Logistical Support Battalion, and the Special Operations Forces, and NATO Allies from the United States, Portugal and Poland. The exercise aim is to ensure readiness of Infantry Brigade Griffin in units for planning and executing defensive operations in collaboration with attached and Allied units in national a defence situation. The collaboration encompasses mutual learning, planning and execution of operations thus ensuring readiness to counter any threat to come.
