27 September at the invitation of the Chief of Defence of Lithuania, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) General Richard Shirreff visited the Ministry of National Defence, he met the Defence Minister Rasa Juknevičienė, Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Arvydas Pocius other representatives of the ministry.
In the meetings with the authorities of the Ministry of National Defence NATO multinational operations were discussed placing particular emphasis on operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, as well as the NATO air-policing mission over the Baltic States, NATO-led exercises in the Baltic countries and other issues.
28 September General R. Shirreff will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania and will meet Foreign Affairs Vice minister Evaldas Ignatavičius.
