Combined field training with U.S. forces

On April 2 soldiers of the United States of America and military personnel of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytenis Main Support Logistics Battalion practiced conducting convoy from the Gaižiūnų Training Area of the Lithuanian Grand Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment to the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The U.S. convoy incorporated exercise of the Headquarters Supply Company and the Provision and Distribution Company of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytenis Main Support Logistics Battalion.

The objective of the exercise was to train completing tasks, coordinating actions and maintaining communication with allied forces. It was a part of a combined continuous training following theoretical and hands-on training of vehicle evacuation held last week. The Lithuanian exercise participants maintained readiness for emergencies, i.e. to recover broken vehicles with SISU trucks, throughout the convoy.

The U.S. logistical company deployed in Lithuania and units of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytenis Main Support Logistics Battalion have developed cooperation: this year a joint exercise is planned not only for small-sized units but also at the level of platoons. Joint training facilitates interoperability, interaction and experience exchange.
