On February 25-26 Chief of the Defence Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Maj Gen Gintautas Zenkevičius conducted a visit to Warsaw and met with leadership of Poland's Operational and General Staffs at the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command.
Chiefs of the defence staffs discussed bilateral defence cooperation, national and international exercises in the countries this year, and development of further cooperation.
Chief of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Defence Staff Maj Gen Gintautas Zenkevičius, Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces Maj Gen Tomasz Piotrowski and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Maj Gen Krzysztof Król discussed cooperation on territorial defence, training military specialists, potential simplification of military transit procedures, national defence planning and preparedness for national and NATO training exercises in the region.
Military cooperation of Lithuania and Poland enables more efficient employment of resources, joining technical capabilities, sharing experience, strengthening NATO capability and security of the Baltic region.
