On October 27 Chief of Defence of Lithuania Maj Gen Arvydas Pocius will participate in the meeting of the EU Military Committee in Brussels (Belgium).
Chief of Defence in the meeting will discuss military operations underway, and will address military issues of the EU and development of military capabilities.
The European Union Military Committee is the supreme military institution of the EU at the level of the Chiefs of Defence. The Committee has been in operation and in charge of military actions of the EU countries since 2001. The institution also renders military advice to the EU Political and Security Committee which shapes common foreign and security policy of the EU.
