Chief of Defence of Lithuania to go on a formal visit to Estonia

On January 27-28 Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lt Gen Valdemaras Rupšys is going on a formal visit to Estonia as an effort to further conduct join projects, strengthen military cooperation and regional security.

 

Chief of Defence of Lithuania will meet with Chief of Defence of Estonia Maj Gen Martin Herem at the Defence Staff of Estonia, visit the Estonian Defence League (Kaitseliit), deployment sites of the 1st Infantry Brigade of the Estonian Army and the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group at Tapa Training Area, lay flowers at the Memorial for Estonian Independence Fights.


Lithuania and Estonia cooperate in defence area trilaterally with Latvia and in multilateral formats - with NATO, EU, NB8, and NORDEFCO. The most active trilateral Baltic cooperation is developed in the areas of air policing, naval forces, joint regional maritime awareness, Baltic Defence College, capacity building, and defence planning.
