March 14, Chief of Defence of Estonia Brig Gen Riho Terras who was conducting a work visit in Lithuania visited units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
Accompanied by Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lt Gen Arvydas Pocius the visited the Air Control Centre of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the joint Control and Reporting Centre (CRC) of Karmėlava where they met with the leadership of the Lithuanian Air Force and multinational staff.
The key focus of the meeting was placed on a discussion on the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission of the Baltic States and functions of the joint Baltic Control and Reporting Centre (CRC) of Karmėlava. Chief of Defence of Estonia Brig Gen Riho Terras visited courtyard of the Vytautas the Great War Museum in Kaunas, Chiefs of Defence of Lithuania and Estonia laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to tribute those killed for Lithuania's freedom, observed expositions at the Vytautas the Great War Museum, later they proceeded to the Officers' Club of Kaunas built during the inter-war period.
Chief of Defence of Estonia Brig Gen R. Terras and Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lt Gen A.Pocius also visited the Motorised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf in Rukla (Jonava Distr.). Chiefs of Defence met with the leadership of the Lithuanian Land Force and the Brigade, addressed relevant points of combat readiness, discussed participation in a range of international military cooperation projects and multinational military training events, and took interest in the activities undertaken by the Lithuanian Land Force.
