October 16-24, Commander of the Lithuanian Air Force Brig Gen Chief Artūras Leita participated in the NATO Air Force Commanders Conference, USA. Air forces of NATO member states were represented in the event by 23 high-ranking officers.
Commander of the Lithuanian Air Force was assigned to head NATO Air Force Commanders' delegation.
Along with delivering announcements at the US Ramstein Air Base and Washington, there were new items on the agenda of this year's conference - visits to the main units and headquarters of the US Air Force.
This time leadership of the US Air Force presented to Air Force Commanders of NATO states Mobility and Transportation Command (Scott AFB, IL), Special Operations Command (Hurlburt Field, FL), Air Force Space Command (Peterson AFB, CO), Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) (Sheppard AFB, TX), and Air Force Warfare Centre (Nellis AFB, Nevada).
In the end of the visit NATO Air Force Commanders were pleasantly surprised at the Pease International Airport, New Hampshire by Pease Greeters, war veterans and civilians, who foster the tradition to welcome and farewell military returning to or departing the Continent honoring so and expressing gratitude to troops for their service.
