On February 12 Chiefs of Defence Staffs of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia discussed trilateral defence cooperation projects BALTNET and BALTRON, national and international military exercise held in the countries territories this year, and further development of trilateral cooperation at a work meeting in Tallinn, Estonia.
Chief of the Defence Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Maj Gen Gintautas Zenkevičius discussed defence planning of the Baltic states and readiness for national and NATO training in the region with his Latvian and Estonian counterparts, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Latvian Armed Forces Brig Gen Imants Ziediņš, and Chief of the Defence Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces Brig Gen Veiko-Vello Palm.
Trilateral Baltic cooperation is ensuring the opportunity to use available resources efficiently , increase technical capabilities, share experience, and thus contribute to better NATO capabilities and security of the Baltic region.
