Admiral Danish Fleet will visit Lithuania


On February 13 and 14 Admiral Danish Fleet Adm (R) Finn Hansen will pay a visit to the Lithuanian Navy in Klaipėda.

 

During the visit the guest will meet with Commander in Chief of the Lithuanian Navy Adm (R) Kęstutis Macijauskas for a discussion over the relevant matters of Lithuania's and Denmark's navies, bilateral cooperation in maritime matters, etc.

 

The guest was briefed on the activity of the Lithuanian Navy, Maritime Rescue Coordination Centers, he was invited to visit the Naval Flotilla.

 

Lithuanian Navy collaborates actively with the Royal Danish Navy. From 1996 to 2007 Lithuania used to send naval officers to study at the Royal Danish Naval Academy, three multipurpose Standart Flex 300 vessels were procured from Denmark in the period from 2007 to 2010. Lithuanian and Danish military assets and crews are sent to collective naval training events. Denmark provides training for Lithuania's naval officers and NCOs who are deployed with the Baltic Naval Squadron (BALTRON).
