On February 6 instructors serving with the Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment are departing for Ukraine on a secondment to transfer professional knowledge. Two members of the Training Regiment were deployed during a ceremony on Monday. "I wish you to represent the state of Lithuania and the name of a Lithuanian soldier with honour, and to transfer your knowledge and skills to Ukrainian soldiers with professionalism," Commander of the Training Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Aleksiejus Gaiževskis said at the ceremony and presented to the deployed soldiers the national flag of Lithuania.


The aim of the secondment in Ukraine is to supervise, advise and assess as well as provide necessary information and consultations. The Training Regiment instructors will mentor, share experience, and will observe professional military service instructors of Ukraine delivering a 7-week long Basic Military Training Course.


Mission of the Training Regiment is deliver the Basic Military Training Course to train soldiers capable of completing individual tasks during peacetime or combat actions, to cultivate their personal traits and values, and to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for armed defence of the state.
