On 31th March, Lithuanian Armed Forces Military Conscription and Recruitment service sent 2000 letters to reserve soldiers inviting them to arrive to regional military conscription and recruitment section. This call-up is a partial mobilization exercise, which will complete largest national Lithuanian Armed Forces exercises ‘Lightening Strike 2017'.
During the course of partial mobilization exercise, conscription stations will be established all over Lithuania. Participants of the exercises will be reserve soldiers who performed military service in 2000-2012 and were retired. The national service administrating personnel will be performing tasks in the case of mobilization, i.e. they will have to clarify personal information of reserve troops and undergo their health check.
‘We are willing to reach as great activity as in the last year exercises, therefore I would recommend reserve soldiers to inform their employers about upcoming exercises thus ensuring possibility to arrive at Military Conscription and Recruitment service sections. We are planning to introduce reserve soldiers to today's armament and equipment, besides they will have a possibility to interact with serving soldiers as well'- said chief of Mobilization Department of the Joint Staff, Lieutenant Colonel Dainius Kazlauskas.
Lithuanian Armed Forces reminds that partial mobilization exercises in 2016 took place in four cities: Vilnius, Kaunas, Alytus and Utena. After receiving the call-up, out of 3000 reserve soldiers more than 1600 arrived to the established conscription stations. Other 300 troops informed about their absence in exercises due to valid reasons, therefore inspection of their personal data was accomplished at another time. All in all ~2/3 of reserve soldiers performed military service by presenting their current personal data.
This year conscription stations will be set up in 12 cities: Pakruojis, Biržai, Telšiai, Tauragė, Plungė, Trakai, Kėdainiai, Molėtai, Ignalina, Šalčininkai, Varėna and Jurbarkas.
Reserve troops without any health issues will be invited to participate in 3 weeks iterative trainings of Lithuanian Armed Forces prepared reserve soldiers, which will be held either in summer or autumn.
